４．どんな交流をするの？　Details of Exchange Program

A.　からいも交流の目的　Objectives of Karaimo Koryu

「からいも交流」は、みなさんが、家族の一員として生活を一緒にする事で、真の国際相互理解を深め、また、生涯の友人をつくる手助けをします。みなさんは、鹿児島県および宮崎県の家庭に２週間ホームステイし、日本の日常生活や仕事を体験します。具体的に何をするかは、ホームステイする地域・家族によって違います。

　This is not a sight-seeing trip. Karaimo Koryu gives you the opportunity of　embracing each other's culture and life, and of breaking stereotypes and making good friendship through family-style relationships by working and spending daily life as a member of the Japanese family. You will be allocated to each family for 2 weeks and experience their daily life and daily work. What you will actually do in the home stay period is depending on each area and each family.

�@家庭交流　Family Exchange

　お客様ではなく、受入家庭の家族の一員として過ごします。家族のルールや生活時間に自分を合わせたり、進んで皿洗いや掃除などのお手伝いをすると良いでしょう。自分の国の料理をつくってあげると、とても喜ばれます。
　Becoming a member of the host family -not a guest. For getting involved them, try to adapt to host family’s custom rather than expect them to adjust to your quirks, and to help their household, like washing dishes, cleaning house, etc. The hostfamily would be delight if you cook some dishes of your country. (^.^)

�A労働交流　Labor Exchange

家族や地域の方と一緒に仕事や手伝いをしながら交流を深めます。仕事は忙しく、大変な事もあります。
Helping your host family and working along-side the local people. Sometimes, you are expected to do some hard job.

�B地域交流　Local Exchange

　地域の行事（社交の会やスポーツなど）に参加します。地域の人と、文化、歴史、生活や考え方などを、積極的に話してみましょう。
　Participating in some local events like social gathering, Sports event etc.




�C学校交流　School Exchange

　小学校、中学校、高校のいずれかに行き、学生との交流をします。あなたの国の言葉や文化について、授業をしてもらうかもしれません。写真・民族衣装・切手などを持ってくると、役に立つでしょう。また、歌のテープ・楽器・童話・ゲームなどを用意すると、子供たちと楽しく遊ぶことができるでしょう。
Visiting elementary school, junior high school or high school and interacting with students. Pictures, traditional clothes, stamps will help for introducing your country. You can enjoy playing with kids if you prepare music tapes, instrument, folk tail, games, etc…




�Dからいも祭り　Karaimo Matsuri

　最終日に、鹿児島の志布志港で、参加学生と参加ホストファミリーの全員が集まる、交流会を開きます。数名の参加学生に、日本語のスピーチコンテストや、あなたの国の文化発表（歌・踊りなど）もしてもらいます。ぜひ、出場して盛り上げてください。
　Exchange party on the last day in Shibushi port, where all the participants join. There will be some stage events like Japanese speech contest , singing contest, dancing contest etc...




B.　どんな仕事を手伝うの？　Family Works

　ホストファミリーの仕事は、農業・畜産業・自営業・お寺・会社員など、いろいろあります。家庭によって、仕事の量や内容が違いますが、一般的に、農業・畜産業のほうが、会社員や公務員の家庭より、たくさん仕事がある事が多いです。
The occupations of host families are farming, company worker, Buddhist monk, etc.The volume of labor is depending on each family. Generally speaking, there is more work at farm than at employee's home.

「農業」：　米・野菜、お茶、花などをつくります。仕事は収穫、草取り、出荷などがあります
Farming: Growing rice, vegetables, tea, flowers etc. You’ll help weeding, reaping a field, shipping, etc.

「畜産」：牛・豚・にわとりなどを育てます。仕事は餌をあげたり、小屋の掃除などがあります
Livestook Farming: Growing cattle, pigs, hens. You’ll help feeding, cleaning the barn, etc.

「自営業」：商店、レストランなど様々です。お店の手伝い、掃除、配達などの仕事があります
Self Employee: Shop keeping, Restaurant, etc. You’ll help attending, cleaning shops, delivery, etc.

「会社員」「公務員」：雇われている人たちなので、仕事を手伝えない事が多いでしょう。家事の手伝いが仕事の中心になるかもしれません。しかし、家庭によっては、知り合いの農家の手伝いをしたり、労働をたくさんする事もあるでしょう。
Company worker, Official: Mostly, they don’t have their own business. So you may help housework mainly. However, some will arrange many working opportunity in local farm or shop for you.
